March 1, 2026 (New Westminster, BC) – NWP Mayoral Candidate, Councillor Daniel Fontaine today announced Queensborough Parent Advisory Council Chair Don Doyle will be an NWP School Board Trustee candidate for the 2026 municipal election. Don joins Liz Fajber, Anita Dunn and Lucas Steele, who have also been announced as School Board candidates by the NWP.
“We are thrilled to welcome Don to the NWP team of School Board and City Council candidates for the October election,” said Councillor Fontaine. “With over 30 years' experience in budget management and leading community boards, Don has demonstrated an ability to function at a very high level. His recent advocacy in support of a sustainable school bus service for Queensborough students is the most recent example.”
“I am passionate about making improvements where needed and, if elected, I will work hard to ensure the SD40 Board runs 100% better. As Tom Petty once said, “You never slow down, you never grow old,” added candidate Doyle. “I also look forward to supporting NWP Councillor Daniel Fontaine’s campaign for Mayor. Getting to know Daniel, it is obvious to me how truly committed he is to lead New Westminster into a new era of prosperity.”
More School Board candidates will be announced in the coming weeks. Since introducing Councillor Daniel Fontaine as Mayoral Candidate in September, the NWP has announced a full team of City Council candidates. More information is available at www.nwprogress.ca.
